What’s for dinner? Pizza Pockets!

So this is different from my usual posts but I have a yummy little treat to share with you. My sister Caitlin loves looking for recipe’s on Pinterest. When she finds a good one she has me and my parents be her guinea pigs. Some aren’t as good as others but she found this recipe for Pizza Pockets and my family loved them! They’re perfect for an afternoon snack or even a quick dinner!

Here’s what you’ll need: (Serves 4)

  • 1 tube of Pillsbury Big N Flaky Crescent Rolls
  • Pepperoni slices
  • 1/2 cup of sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup of green bell pepper, diced
  • 4 sticks of Mozzarella string cheese, cut in half
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon of dry Italian seasoning blend
  • 3 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 jar of Pizza sauce

Take the 4 Mozzarella sticks and cut them in half, leaving you with 8 small sticks. Place the cut cheese sticks in the freezer for about 15 minutes before preparing the pockets. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Open the tube of Pillsbury Crescent rolls and divide it into 8 triangle. The next step is great do get the kids involved. On the bigger end of the roll place the pepperoni, 1/2 cheese stick, black olives, and green peppers. My favorite thing about this meal is that each pizza pocket can be customized however you want it. I packed mine with pepperoni, yum! Once you’re done, tightly roll the wide end towards the point. Tuck the sides under the tip to create a seal. Take the beaten egg and brush the top of each pocket. Then sprinkle the cheese and seasoning on top.

Leave some space between each pocket when placing them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until nice and golden brown. Once your pizza pockets are out of the oven serve with pizza sauce for dipping and enjoy! I hope you all love these pizza pockets as much as we did!
